3 Things to Avoid After Laser Hair Removal

With the holiday season just around the corner, you are going to want to do everything to look and feel your best before all of those work parties, family parties, and parties with all of your best friends. And, as one of the best ways to look and feel like your sexiest and most attractive self, getting laser hair removal is a great option. By permanently getting rid of unwanted hair around your body, whether you are male or female, you can kiss your razor, tweezer, and waxer goodbye for good. However, as with any type of procedure that you are going to get done, recovery is one of the most important steps. Read on to learn more about things that you should avoid and try to do in between your laser hair removal treatments.

Laser Hair Removal

The Sun
Luckily, because it is almost winter, you likely won’t be spending too much time outside in the sun. However, depending on where you are getting laser hair removal done— your arms and face— you will need to cover up and avoid the sun as much as humanly possible. Because getting laser hair removal done can cause your skin to be more sensitive to the sun, it can cause you to burn and even scar— a lose, lose situation. If you do have to go outside, make sure that you cover your skin with sunscreen.

Avoid Hot Baths and the Sauna
If you are used to getting into a hot bath every night before bed or if you enjoy getting into the sauna in order to help clear out your pores and sinuses, then this part of recovery may be hard for you. However, for at least 24 hours following your laser hair removal treatment, we encourage you to avoid taking any hot bath, dip in the jacuzzi, or trip to the sauna.

Use a Skin Calming Cream
Because your skin might be a bit more sensitive after your laser hair removal treatment, purchase a skin calming cream beforehand. Something that has something like aloe vera in it will help to soothe your skin afterward.
